>>53804370Are you really counting TotK's sky islands as a "whole new region"? I could maybe understand doing so for the underground (even though there is literally, L I T E R A L L Y nothing down there besides battery shit) but the sky islands are by far the most disappointing area of the game, they're incredibly tiny. That big island in the center is the tutorial, for people who aren't aware.
>new sidequests, new storyIt's pretty much "get the koroks/shrines" and "go to these places to activate the doodads and go beat Ganon" again. Which, yes, is every Zelda game...but those usually take place on unique maps with unique mechanics.
It is just BotW again. As I've said, even people who positively rate the game call it BotW again. That's why they like it. Even I, who enjoyed BotW and did actually like TotK, acknowledge I did so because it is BotW again, and my disappointment outweighs my like. A game can be good but still should be immensely criticized for the principles behind it.
>People are starting to reckon ToTK took so longAnd that's alright, but that has nothing to do with talking about TotK, which is a game that has been hugely hyped from its reveal. Imagine if when Silksong comes out later this year it shits the bed so that Team Cherry could work on their next project, we'd never hear the end of it.
>>53804388Are you really saying that people should just never expect anything good or above their expectations? Lol
