At the end of the day smogon doesn't care about how outsiders think about them and just want a competitive and healthy experience to those who are part of their community. Outsiders who want to play with their gimmicks can just queue up on AG, Ubers, VGC and other modes. Even natdex to some extent if they want to use megas against dynamax and lose braincells.
But if they want to play OU they'll have to accept it's not a clown fiesta and it has rules.
