Look at it this way, Galarian Ponyta is called the Unique Horn Pokemon (obviously a play on unicorn without calling it such). That makes sense if we were agreeing that there were no real animals. If they really wanted to scrub all mention of real animals, they would do so. It'd be a day of extremely easy work, but they haven't. The only two explanations are that A. Real animals exist but it's a contrived fantasy world so who cares or B. TPC are extremely lazy and incompetent. Or C. Both.
