I feel the same way about all the Gen 1 remakes as well. Pokémon became extremely bloated starting with Gen 3, and it’s only gotten worse. LGPE was an attempt to mitigate this bloat, but those games were babby-tier difficulty. The lack of difficulty was also the biggest problem I had with XY (as well as Swoosh, which I didn’t even finish).
