For it to be producing sound at the insane levels it purportedly does, its ears would be creating vibrations like a motherfucker. To have Noivern's head not take lethal damage from its own intense vibrations I assume the its skull along with the black part of its ears are extremely dense and inflexible while the cyan part of the ear does all the vibrating. It needs to be absorbing all the shock somehow.
