That's the whole reason Red and Blue/Green are adults. You got the retards who think "96" is the year they were born, but it's the anniversary of when they started their journey. Both of them are 31 now.
I started watching pokemon at 9 in '98. So it was something super nice to see them age up like I have, even if I'm still playing an 11 year old in the game.
