>>45771586valid but it's also inspired by other shit. my point was it just seems obtuse to use that line for a European badger. either it's a forced meme or an excuse to use an idea (like the Kiss stuff) and that's what I hate about the Galarian forms. they don't feel like they really belong to that region. a European badger could have been anything or nothing at all, you know? pokemon got by fine making a new cat a new monkey and a new moth for most regions and then reusing the same mons for other things no matter what part of the world it was based on. It just seems right now that suddenly deciding there's going to be a different version of Meowth in every region instead of making a new cat OR deciding they need new forms of old Pokémon to cover caps in a region when they didn't give a fuck about that before? It just seems forced at this point, and it sucks because the whole regional form idea like I said is really clever if it's played correctly. Like, why the fuck do we need a gentleman smokestack Weezing when they couldn't even give us the pre-existing bulldog Pokémon, Yorkshire terrier or lions who all totally make sense in an English region? It's clear that their design process for Gen 8 was not based on being genuine but rather on what sounded cool. And I think that's the major problem with modern Pokemon--they're too focused on what they can market instead of what's making a good game.
