If you read this prologue, would you keep reading the story?
I wish things weren't so bad, I wish the war would just end. It wasn't going to end anytime soon, that's for damn sure. It started a couple of weeks ago. The leaders of the Sevii isles declared independence, and after a long debate of how things could benefit us all, we were glad to let them have it, so long as the Sevii showed no aggression. But a group of Kanto extremists decided that they don't want them to have their independence. They feared that the Sevii people would stop trade on certain goods, or raise tariff prices. So they banned together, geared up and decided to blow up Pokecenters and dock yards. They waved a Kanto flag, the Sevii people didn't like that. So they decided to launch a surprise invasion a month later, attacking Cinnabar Island first, to declare a foothold, Vermillion to stop supplies from coming in and closing down entry from Saffron city. No one thought they could prep an army of 300,00. No one thought they would be so aggressive. No one thought we would lose so much ground so quickly. They sabotaged our power plant so we ended up losing communications and power in Cerulean, Celadon, Saffron, and Lavender town. The Kanto Defense Coalition, or KDC, was unprepared for such a quick and devastating attack. So many men, women, and pokemon alike were killed. When the first pictures of dead civilians hit the newspaper, everyone decided all of a sudden to become patriots. The people of Kanto was shocked to see pictures of children covered in blood, severely injured or dead. I was drafted, I had to leave my pregnant wife back in Pallet. I promised her I'd be back soon. It's only a 4 year tour, and I get two months max of R&R per year. I know I'll be back to see her and my child. I promised.
