Anyways, I decided to check out that rift further.
I didn't even try battling it, let alone catching it. That was a battle I knew ai pretty much wouldn't win. Manaphy was my only Pokémon that could potentially communicate with it. And I think that might have saved my life.
In the off chance you see a Legendary like Palkia, do not try to battle it. The best way of dealing with the situation, is to show it that you don't want any trouble, and just walk away without making a fuss.
