Sure some people might have asked for a faithful remake, but I doubt they were thinking of a literal carbon copy of the original games with zero-effort 3D graphics for 40 bucks plus tip.
If you haven't seen the writing on the wall and ditched this dead-end franchise by now, you're most likely beyond hope. The other game they announced at least looks a little interesting but it's gamefreak so they're guaranteed to fuck it up somehow or just half-ass it in general.
