>>52791184Yeah, but the Rebuild's are ass and take place in a separate continuity, so the blow isn't as bad. I love Asuka, but Rebuild Askua isn't Asuka, and barely got enough development for me to care about her relationships anyway. Plus, there's tons of Eva games, dating sims and spin-off manga where practically every ship has sailed.
The Pokemon anime, on the other hand, is a single thing that's just kept building and building, adding more girls and separate camps online for each one. Not to mention, there's not a lot of extra material out there that's based solely on the anime, and there's even less that's packed with romantic implications. Mistyfags have the Electric Pikachu manga to fall back on, and that's about it. There's a Diamond and Pearl manga from way back when, but from what I've seen, there's no romantic tension, they're just buddies.
