>venomoth seems to be clearly based on a moth and not a butterfly despite its Japanese name.the only mothish thing about venomoth might be the fatter abdomen. dont try to act like the crest resembles moth antennae, its a made up feature that if anything, is a a continuation of the one from caterpie.
Also, I think its worth adding to the thread that in early artwork venomoth had yellow colored markings(caterpie has yellow markings aswell) on the back of its wings that have been suspiciously removed from later incarnations.
