I'm just spitballin' here but I think this is a really great chance to do a little justice to some Pokémon that deserve it. Absol and Mawile are great choices for this and I'd also like to see more Pokémon such as Dunsparce, Primeape, Stantler, Sableye and of course the starters. Personally I'm hoping for Charizard to get one of these forms, he's just a personal favorite and I'd like to use him in the metagame more without having geophobia every damn match.
Another benefit I see form this is bringing some older Pokémon (Primarily Gen I - III) up into a more modern 'light' if you will. I've been playing since Red and Blue and in all honesty I find this exciting, really exciting. I can't help but imagine how awesome some redesigns will look.
