>>27468139 says, because it would be pretty fucking stupid if Ice Vulpix evolved with a Fire Stone. As for the Fairy type, I think Vulpix should have had it, due to having pix(ie) for a suffix. Too bad we didn't get our dream of Ninetales being part Ghost or Psychic.
And in the context of the writethread, there's not much to say save that we're going to get booted out by all the hype.
