Well guys..looks like this is it.
I'm not even shitposting or sperging out, ever since the first bit of info came out about SwooShi, for the first time in my life as a huge and life-long Pokemon fan, I didn't feel that hyped. The graphics, the blatant low-effort and cash-grabbing shit GameFreak pulled, it was just so...mediocre.
Then came the starters. Decent but I had hope.
Then the culling. Destroying my wishes of seeing my life-long bros on the new gen.
Then the blatant lies of "culling for sake of graphics/gameplay", where it was actually worse.
I was so hopeful and wishing for a great game with an awesome new gen and graphics with effort that a multi-billion dollar franchise can easily do, and give me a reason to buy the Switch. For the first time in my life, I skipped a pokemon game (LGPE), and that was the first sign of the end to come.
But with every update/trailer/news, I genuinely felt less and less excited or even cared about these new games.
My last hope was on the dex--"fine. Then show me at least WHAT all of this was sacrifice for. The actual Pokemon--the heart of the franchise."
And the day has come. The dex was leaked. And it was even worse than I ever imagined.
I absolutely hate to admit this from the bottom of my heart, but it looks like it's the end of the road for me and Pokemon. I played the originals on the GameBoy, I was an Episode 1 fan of the anime--running home from school to catch Pokemon, I remember the 1999 Pokemania that took the world by storm, it was childhood AND my adulthood.
But this is the end of the road my friends.
I am not buying these games, I feel betrayed as a life-long fan and just...not even mad, just disappointed.
It was fun, /vp/. Thanks for the great and not-so-great memories all the same. And goodbye Pokemon.
