Pokemon like Banette, Chandelure, and Aegislash work, because possessed dolls, haunted furniture, and cursed swords fit well with a ghost theme, and because they actually look like ghosts.
Now if they made Colossand look like a haunted castle that happened to me made of sand, it'd be fine. But it's just... an ordinary sandcastle but it eats people. It's seriously just a sandcastle.
And that's ignoring it's pre-evo, which is LITERALLY A PILE OF SAND WITH A FACE.
