>>47493197The implied pokefucking in general might be a problem. But that depends on your players and on yourself, because it's akin to having other equally degenerate things in your game. Like pedos and incest. Some players aren't uncomfortable around [+18] flags but most are. If you already have friends who are interested in playing you should ask them if everyone is ok with those implications. That or openly advertise your game with those flags. So only people that are interested will join (you can get a ton of them here in /vp/ too).
And about the poor wording in my imagination you were talking about deviantart and furaffinity OCs. Pokemon who can speak are sparingly used in games because it's supposed to be special. But you do you, I really wouldn't mind if my tabletop had many talking mons. If anything this would help everyone who isn't a Mythic or a Psychic with telepathy.
At the end of the day it's your game to run. If you're using the past as plot points then I really believe straying away from pokefuckers is the right call. But if only the present and the future matter to your campaign then having the plot as is might be a good thing. Overcoming prejudice is a strong narrative and every story needs a theme, might as well go with it.
