They didn't put effort into the presentation because they didn't have to, the draw was the pokemon and the visuals are there to facilitate that, they could've been used to enhance the experience but they weren't. These games are products, no one is trying to take away your good memories by saying they weren't as good as they could've been. You taking it to heart is pretty weird and something you should really examine, it's like the people crying over Star Wars cashcrabs or defending the MCU popcorn actions flicks as masterpieces and touchstones of culture and its development. I don't understand why people tie their identity in with products or corporations, you can enjoy and be moved and influenced by things without making it an integral part of you as a person.
