>>53506824To me it comes off as kids who were (understandably) desperate for Digimon Adventure style story out of this franchise being utterly rocked by how much more involved this manga is with the material than the games or TV show, and treating that daring as a sign of quality. Hence some discussion of Adventures not being about the story's own merits but simply how it isn't the anime, as if clearing that toe-high bar means anything.
