But it's also possible that you lose, get the loss prevention, then get on a nice win streak, go up to 2 diamonds, wobble there for a bit, then go down to 0 diamonds, and it's been more than 6 games so you get the loss prevention. A 45% winrate doesn't mean you're guaranteed to be losing ten games in a row.
And even if you do derank later, that doesn't mean anything with regards to the diamonds that you already got. You still GOT that loss prevention earlier, and exchanged a few points for a diamond. The fact that you deranked later changes nothing about the fact that you DID gain a diamond. And mathematically, you can demonstrate that, over time, you WILL get enough free diamonds from this that your rank trends upwards.
Out of curiosity, what winrate do you think you can get to Masters with? You think it's 50%? Why?
