>>55999818>First off: The game originally implied that Pecharunt's goons murdered Ogerpon's trainer before stealing his masks. No? That's your own interpretation of the story.
>A group of greedy Pokémon soon made their way to the land of Kitakami. These Pokémon sneaked into the cave in which the man and the ogre lived...and tried to make off with the masks, which were carefully stored away. The man happened to be there. He managed to hold on to one of the masks...but he was not strong enough to protect them all. The story heavily implies the man gave his life protecting his home and his masks, which the video ultimately confirms. Hell, if they really murdered him before stealing them, then why did they leave one mask behind rather than taking them all?
>Pecharunt has a mentality closer to an infant or at least a very young child. That is one facet of him that explains why he acts the way he does, the other being his plethora of character flaws which the video never shies away from showing. He's greedy, entitled, and spoiled rotten, on top of having extreme attachment issues. These add to his accountability as much as being a child with an undeveloped moral compass takes away from it. Someone with good intentions doing bad things will always be more interesting than someone bad doing bad things, or someone good doing good deeds.
>unimportant to the overall plot of the gamePlainly untrue as it's clearly established he's the one to set the events of TM in motion. People knew this before even Indigo Disk came out because he's teased and foreshadowed all throughout the first part of the DLC. Him not having his backstory in the game is less about him not being actually relevant and more about GF being shit, rushing their games and/or lacking the balls to introduce a fully voiced cutscene into the game. Ultimately though it doesn't matter all that much since they still managed to tell a compelling story even though you had to sort of Frankenstein it together.
