Right now I have 32 different docs, and that number is likely to rise, since I usually split them up once I write so much that they're a hassle to scroll through. I have more documents, generally excerpts, on my phone, and some more on my flash drive. There are a lot of scrapped chapter beginnings from high school on that one, too, if that counts.
Just get down what you need to. You may find that you don't want to turn your ideas into an actual story, since they may be lacking in a way you can't make up for yet, but it's
fun to plot things out anyway.
