>>23103951There's a good reason beyond blinding shininess Chesnaught's ill aversion to the vibrant crystal stinger, but such purposes won't become fully realized until he makes direct contact with it, but given the circumstances, it's bound to happen moreso now than later.
"CHE!"
With the rest of its enormous body still taking cover underground, the Steelix's sparkling stinger thrashes about before settling on a target. With Grashglik more focused on you than your supposed "defender", it's no surprise why the tail lashes out at you first. It turns out that a crystallized Stone Edge is no more than just being brutally rammed into by the edge of an iron-hard megaton tail.
You swallow down a huge gulp and step back, suddenly wrought with a case of anxiety that freezes you in place. It's here that you realize that Grashglik and the Iron Snake control the majority of the terrain. There's nowhere you can run, nowhere you can hide. The Steelix's ability to reside underground gives it a major advantage in shielding, attacking, and worst of all--stalking.
Unable to move, you watch as the tail picks up speed in its charge, you close your eyes in fear of the pain that's going to come with getting blown the fuck out, but time passes and to your shock, you remain safe and sound.
"E-Eeh?"
"CHE!!"
This is going to sound screwy in every way possible, but Chesnaught jumps in-between the stinger's line of fire. Acting on defensive instinct, he merges his arms together to use Spiky Shield to block the hit. The Iron Snake collides with the hedgehog, but is nonethelesss to destroy his protective barrier, instead receiving damage for making contact with it.
Ultimately, the crystal tail recedes into the ground, vanishing. Chesnaught uses the time to deactivate his shield. He places his paws on his knees and takes a deep breath. Being so close to that stinger has made him feel uneasy. It's unnerving.
"Che....Che..."
