All of Kanto has been bent to our will, but it was by the skin of our teeth. The first seven fights were, as usual, a cakewalk, most of them soloed by a single mon, but Blue was a whole other story. I went into his fight quite underleveled, because it's the second to last fight and I'm itching to move on to Gen 3, but it almost cost me dearly. The Artist Currently Formerly Known As Dupree DuBois does most of the heavy lifting as she's been doing most of this run, taking out Blue's Pidgeot, Alakazam, Rhydon and Gyarados, but by the time Exeggutor comes out she's only hanging on by a thread, thanks in large part to Rhydon going for Sandstorm which drains 1/8 HP this gen. I know that Blue's Exeggutor can only directly damage with Egg Bomb and Solarbeam, and since I'm way out of range for an Egg Bomb KO, I decided to chance a Fire Punch to weaken the coconut man, thinking that Gertrude can eat a Solarbeam ezpz, kill Exeggutor, bait a Flamethrower from his Arcanine that Din Zhao can eat and then hopefully KO the Arcanine tout suite.
