I have the Fire Energy TCG symbol on my heel. It's my first and only tattoo as of now, and nobody ever has anything negative to say about it. People only really notice it in the summer when I'm wearing sandals or shoes without socks, or I'm barefoot, or swimming, or fucking or something like that. Pokemon fan or not, it's still a cool looking tat.
I suggest doing something subtle, that
A) isn't going to flag you as a Pokegeek off the bat
B) non-Pokemon fans can also appreciate
and C) People who DO like Pokemon are going to recognize and think is extra cool
Gym badges were a good idea, TCG symbols all look great, a simply designed Pokemon or part of a Pokemon, like Cubone's skull or something. Really it comes down to whatever part of the Pokemon franchise you really love the most, and what you're willing to look at in the shower/mirror/middle of sex for the rest of your life.
And for Christ's sake, don't get a tattoo at all if you aren't gonna go back every five years or so and get it touched up. Old blurry tats look like shit regardless.
