What I like about this latest episode is how its Ash being confronted with situations he would have failed at originally and instead coming out on top, that seems to be the whole theme of MPM, he's now a "master" at things that would have obliterated in OS
>Misty
has her pouring spaghetti at will
>Scary large animal pokemon
He literally used to get chased by a bear regularly, now he is able to help out a significantly larger bear like he's goddamn park ranger, even at the cost of his physical health
>Pokemon not getting along
aces it with flying colors
>Pikachu being separated from him
Doesn't throw a tantrum, has faith Pikachu will be back again
>Ratatta and Spearow
Calms them down instead of pissing them off even further, a simple change in behavior that leads to them being outright obedient to him
People mock the idea of a Pokemon Master being someone who has a clear understanding of Pokemon, but I think that's a perfectly good concept.
Look at Steve Irwin
Despite his tragic end, the man had better self control in any situation with wild animals than almost anyone else on earth. His title "crocodile hunter" was always in accurate, this was the guy who was able to calm down a seething 25 foot gator. A guy who could swim with a shark and know how not to set it off.
A guy who could wrap a cast around a tiger's arm while it was awake. A Master
He could deliberately put himself in a lethal situation and he would do it either to help the animal or show how powerful or interesting it is, he had absolute love for nature and near (unfortunately *only* near) absolute control among nature's most dangerous creatures
I think a Pokemon Master is similar
