I'm planning to use Rotom-Wash but that puts me into an awkward position where my main Water-type doesn't get Surf. Is having a main team without Surf a really big deal in Platinum?

I'd get really mad and take a short break from the game. I'm sure some people have some "evolution clause" bullshit but if it's dead, it's dead.
