It was also specially made for her by her dad's company. I don't think she needs to wear it all the time, but I like to headcanon that she does (mostly, she still washes it, and she takes it off when she gets in the shower or when she goes to bed). I feel like her being somewhat disabled adds to her charm and humanises her quite a bit.
