>>57250083>Gyarados so OP it mogs every other water-type Pokemon in almost every game it is addedDo people really believe this? Gyarados is a strong Water Type but with how gigantic of a pool the Water Type Pokemon is, there is always going to be better options depending on what you want.
Its flying type makes it easy pickings for any electric type move regardless of stab and its not exactly speedy. Its coverage is amazing with dragon dance, earthquake, powerwhip and stab options along with its two strong ablities but that doesn't instantly mean its the best water type.
I will agree that Gyarados did start the trend of shitty pokemon having some amazing final evolution as if to make up for having to grind it up, but funnily enough the level 20 cap seems fucking tame compared to the gen 5 birds needing level 50+
