I don't why you get xp from catching Pokemon, shouldn't the tradeoff from catching a Pokemon be you don't get it's xp?
I have only caught all of a regional dex in XD, never in any other game. So I don't particularly care if a game is bloated with Pokemon, as long as I can hack in my favorite.
