Animations have never been an issue because they've never had a console as powerful as the switch. People has always wanted a main series game on home console, they could've used this chance to make battles look impressive, like they did in the stadium games. But they didn't. Animations are what give personality and charm to the mons during battles. In a game where you spend half of the time battling. I'd say animations are pretty important. Might as well just have all the characters and pokémon T-posing during the entire game. Would you still buy it then?
Game Freak should be ashamed and apologists should stop defending their laziness/incompetence/indifference.
