https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oVm96zTiSl0https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SeJkcF6gYjAthe characters in sm are a lot more expressive than in xy, theyre not afraid to squash and stretch them which makes it look a lot more fluid. there are some nice parts in xy like the bunnelby fight but on average the charaters in sm are moving a lot more and their expressions are more varied. xy's issue is that they try to stay on model too much and it looks stiff, when they do stretch they use lines to try to cover it up. the generic sharp anime style is extremely limiting for animation
