What you describe are merely worsening symptoms of everything that's been going on for the past 4 years. That and the fact that TPC went all in on merchandise and creature FOMO (mainly for Pokémon GO, but also for merchandise) while completely throwing in the towel on making Pokémon games that do anything more than trick people into buying just one more.
