So continuing from last time, I plowed through Victory Road, destroyed Wally, and then grinded up the core 4 to level 55, even updating their movesets along the way.
While I did that, I kept Department and Painting in the Daycare as I figured I'd probably want them around for the E4 since at the very least they can provide some utility (Department could probably hit like a dumptruck thanks to its Adamant nature and EQ and Painting could at least provide fast Para support and even Rain Dance)
In terms of strategy going into the E4, I've got it (mostly) planned out
>Sidney
Give Addition a Persim Berry going in to cover it vs his Mightyena's Swagger, Bulk Up turn 1, sweept the rest of his team with Brick Break
>Phoebe
I...have no plan for this other than trying to brute force with Tension and Addition. Have also considered bringing back Queen, grinding her up, and using her for this fight (she would replace Painting)
>Glacia
Either blow through her team with a boosted Addition or use the safer option of beating her first Glalie with Addition, then going to Studio to Calm Mind up in front of Sealeo and sweep the rest. Am scared of it booming on me so I'd likely sack one of the newbies if need be....though I could also just risk it
>Drake
If needed, use an X speed on Tension and sweep with Ice Beam
>Steven
Addition and Tension should carry, but I am nervous going in about Metagross. I may boost up Addition's levels to be safe (I do have Rare Candies stocked up)
Part of me wants to get everyone to 60 but that's likely overkill.
Also it may be fucked up to say this, but honestly Poet and Bedroom's deaths, if anything, helped my chances here since I can play around with the last two slots....even if I wanted Poet to last to the end
I like my chances but things could easily go pear-shaped at any point, as I've learned from this run. Once the 2 newbies are up to 55, I'll give it a shot
