>>47710331Sort of the latter, but nobody's actually that unique, and it's the exception when it happens. That said, it's easy enough to let people have this sort of slack because in the end, well-trained Pokemon are still much more powerful than any human character. Easier access to stronger attacks, more dramatic stat multipliers, etc. If someone wants to remind other players that Pokemon exist, it's potentially an easy thing to remind them how fragile the human body is beneath a Rock Slide or within a Flamethrower. Any player can take the reigns of the tone. Since our quests allow players to control both a Pokemon and a Trainer, we've been careful with how potent trainers can actually get as combatants, which most aren't in any direct sense.
>>47711127Understandable. Just curious though, since we have text and roll20 ones, were you around to see any of the latter?
Anyway I've tried to find other groups too, just as a side thing when I'm out of gas for the main place. It's actually astounding how bad every one of them is. Maybe starting this one from /vp/ was the best thing that could have happened. If I ever find a good one though, maybe I'll shill it somehow. While I really like Brumnim, there are some character types I'd like to try that probably wouldn't work out too well there, and I've already split my attention enough between my OCs just in that one setting for most of them to be progressing decently.
