Gardevoir's got problems too as a species: Future Seeing can lead to similar problems and easy arguments over things that may or may not happen. They could also read minds (which seems like all psychic types can do) so that'll cause all types of problems as they read your thoughts, and they might have a bit innate clingyness due to their desire to protect (You could probably work to fight back against all of this though)... but I'll take all of that over knowing exactly when I'll die.
