>>39815115Different anon, the difference being that prior to ORAS you only lost out a legendary transformation or two, and were otherwise penalized for using the older game for your lack of what the new one gave you. Meanwhile with ORAS, Game Freak decided forcing ORAS players to turn down XY challengers they'd have loved to battle was better incentive than letting me smack Kalosians with the Mega Sceptile they can't have, effectively turning owning the newer game into a burden passed on to the player.
