>>54547255It's going to hurt anything that doesn't resist it hard tho. Admittedly Corvinigger is pretty common and iirc can wall it pretty well. But besides that it's a legitimate counter to both.
Point is, Finch could've easily waited a week or two max to see potential avenues with Bax counterplay since theres a lot of it that exists. But again, quickbans are the worst shit ever because all it does is prevent the meta game from adapting. That's why older gens will always be enjoyable because adaptation is king, and any bans that happen are super rare and shitmons don't completely dominate team compositions.
Every quick ban/ban so far has been pretty dubious. With Volcarona/Magearna really being the only ones that were reasonable. Because their inherent flaws were nullified with this new mechanic. Hyper Offense gets an automatic slap away from OU, but the moment we get a huge piece of shit stallmon that stands there and centralizes the meta, it's fine because "MUH BALANCE". He's even remotely lucky Gamefreak even bothered addressing that issue, otherwise people would've been more pissed off at this than usual.
Now that we're discussing this, it's almost like the reason why OU has such a huge ban list this gen is partially because of Tera. It's almost like these bans would've never happened had we gotten a OPS/outright ban from the mechanic. All it really does is enable the already stellar mons to nearly perfection levels of power. Maybe instead of shitting their pants and quick banning stuff that could easily been nulled by playerbase meta adaptation, they should tackle the elephant in the room that's enabling these bans to begin with, Tera and now the presence of Veil. But I don't think VP is ready to have that discussion yet.
