>>33146255>>33146278Yeah, what I've noticed is that encounters are solely dependent on chance. My entire run could have changed drastically if I could have encountered an Oddish after Mt. Moon but didn't. I wasted 5 routes trying to get a Flying Type, and 4 routes trying to get Grass.
I then noticed in Cinnabar that I've relied on Gift/Static Mons for most of the run. It kind of defeats the purpose of Rule #2.
I want to say that if I planned ahead more then it could have turned out smoother, but some Pokemon just have a higher encounter rate than others. And that's not a bad thing, but it does add up in the long run.
Also, you can't ever have any Normal or Dragon type Pokemon due to the Nature of the locke, which lowers the amount of mons.
I know I had bad luck on this run, and I may try this again. But it could definitely be approved upon, I just don't have any ideas
I also want to add that I didn't get a third Party Member until Celedon, so Gyarados and Charizard were pretty much overleveled throughout.
Also I won. rip Magneton and Charizard
