I hate Pearl's Diglett and Tauros the most, why didn't he just pick Sinnoh Pokemon? Eventually I chalked it all up to the DP arc being a funny comedic story where none of them are that serious about battling. Sure they have potential and Pearl even has prodigy skills from his dad, but none of them are interested in hardcore grinding for grinding's sake motivated by career ambition or deep rooted childhood trauma etcetera. These three just want to hang out, and Platinum is ultimately just on a nerd quest plus some shit about her family's rock or something, I forgot.
