But to quibble for the fun of it, I must have been even more out of the online loop at the time than I thought- to me the old games were, you know, still there (I played through the Stadium games properly later in the early aughts) and FRLG at 6 years later still felt too SOON. I knew things like Shiny Gold existed and... that was cool I guess?
Didn't later iterations include Zinnia? That was weird. Granted I didn't play HGSS or ORAS right on release either so that isn't just directed a fan games.
