Can somebody critique this, please?
It was quick 15 min Rescue Team/Mystery Dungeon drawing on MS Paint. (I've never played either, so I don't know much about the differences. I just know general things about them.)
I wanted to try adding just a little bit of perspective and I used no lineart for it like I'd usually do. Instead, I just went ahead and used the colors to form the figure.
As you can see, for the arm of Charmeleon's that is closer to you, I outlined it a bit with a darker color, but this isn't shading, as there is none in the picture other than the shadow on the ground which I will explain later. Anyways, I used the dark color to bring out the arm and make sure it wasn't lost inside of the color.
Because I wanted the piece to look very simple and wanted it to not stir up a specific emotion, I didn't give the Charmeleon any facial features that might suggest a mood/emotion.
Wanted to try a new form of movement with the swiping arm with the little 'swipes' in the air to suggest the movement. I'm still not very satisfied with the attempt, but I didn't want to spend more than 30 mins on this.
Shadow on the ground was kept linear to keep the art's simple tone to it.
