You're comparing the absolute minimum knowledge required in baby's first turn-based RPG to learning a bunch of command inputs in a competitive 2d arena fighter, on top of expecting the kid to have them completely memorized on his first go and having the dexterity to match you in skill.
Your friend's stepbrother isn't some idiot normalfag that can't stomach a challenge, he's a fucking kid that didn't want to be put on the spot and play against human players he had no chance in winning against without prior knowledge or practice.
