People were upset about the National Pokedex cut, but they were more upset about the excuse that TPCi made for it. (They were able to fit every Pokemon into the 3DS cartridge and the models and animations were confirmed futureproofed, TPCi just wanted to keep players paying for HOME.) Shills on Twitter and YouTube spun things to paint people calling out their bullshit as whiny and entitled (sounds familiar, doesn't it?)
And now we're here: Sword and Shield has completely dismantled any fan's ability to say anything bad about the games without it being seen as 'nitpicking'. And part of me thinks that was done on purpose. Pokemon makes more money than Marvel, and look at how *they've* quashed bad PR.
