I’m certain that Manaphy’s popularity in particular is over-inflated because of that background, I don’t think many normal people like it.
Darkrai used to be WAY more popular when most shit was pure edge or really emo, but now that everyone’s too busy projecting their mental illness onto uwu wholesome small boys and the furries have quintupled in number shit like Zeraora and Victini has taken off. I used to think neither of these guys had any fans, but then I found out that they have LOADS. And they’re terrifying.
