I was in 3rd grade, I had liked the show prior, but I was more for digimon, and then I was at my friend's house and he was way into it and had a huge under-bed case filled with PkMn cards, and I had none, so he started me out with a couple of good uns', even some holos. But I didn't have a GBA, only a GB, so with this newfound love for pokemanz I asked my mother for silver version, she got it from blockbuster, and I was playing it soon after. it was fun, I loved it, the music was great, and Cyndaquil was awesome. But then, within the same year, maybe a little afterwards, there was this kid on my bus who really didn't care for the games anymore, and he was hungry, so he said he'd give me ruby version for some doritos. The next day, I gave him his doritos, and I had my first new gen pokèmon game...but with no system to play it on. so I let it sit for a while just waiting for the day that I could have my own GBA. and then, one day, another event on the bus happened, this girl had a blue GBA and she was playing some spongebob or some crêpe, and I was like, "hey, can I play" and she's like "yeah sure" , it was a really long bus ride, and she forgot I even had it, so I just kept playing, and when I looked up to give it back to her, she was gone, and I was almost at my stop, so I got off the bus with the beautiful vidyasystem, excited to play my long awaited ruby version. and IT .WAS .SO .GORGEOUS. and so, I never returned the Gameboy to the girl, because she just thought she misplaced it. I finally had my GBA. and I could talk about the new pokèmon I caught with my friends, even battle with them. and when emerald came out, I was so happy I wasn't obsolete anymore. and after that I was a real pokèmon fan and did everything that entailed.
But it was around when the pokèmon ranger movie about manaphy came out that I fell out of my love and I just became a softcore fan, when I looked at a pokedex book for gen 4, I said "these are retarded".
but then in my senior year
