The revelation that its not true open world and is instead several chunks means that now the bar has raised, because instead of BOTW we can compare the game to other games that do something similar like Monhun and Xenoblade 2, the issue though, is that PLA looks nothing even remotely close to as good as either of those games, so now everyone is realizing we're in for another round of having our somewhat moderate expectations slam dunked on by classic GF incompetence.
GF is absolutely doing something new, but like usual, they half ass it and are miles behind the rest of the industry. It really is our fault for having any real expectations, however.
