>>18861193You want a real reason you underage fucker? Then fucking sit down and read up.
Pokemon is a jrpg. Let's break that down. J(japanese) R(role) P(playing) G(game). A game where you effectively role play as this other character in a world not our own. All these pokemon and characters? You develop bonds, and head canons about them. You gain bros/sis, members of your team that you've been working on and building that always seem to pull through, this one pokemon becoming your best bro in game.
Now I'm not the first or the last to say that pokemon games have pretty piss poor stories. That said, the stories are still interesting, if simplistic. If it's not for you then w/e, but other people like the concepts. Fucking genocide? Lysandre's possibly the scariest villain we've had since 4th gen.
The pokemon and character designs just in general are interesting. Half the pokemon I use I use because they look cool, and just happen to be decent in competitive in the end.
On that subject, competitive is fun for people that want more than just the AI in game and want to try their skill and teambuilding methods against other players. People who can actually think and develop new strategies. Sure there's those fuckers who just bring in a full team of legendaries and declare "I am teh best lulz!" But those guys can easily be destroyed with a well thought out team of cinccinos, vivillons, azumarills, gallades, etc. It's the fun of coming up with sets that are good and work well in tandem with each other, and you can actually see yourself gitting gud, and it's satisfying.
If none of these things apply to you, then pokemon just isn't for you. I gave you a good handful of reasons people like it. Go return the game for like 7 bucks at gamestop, and buy ghost cod or some shit. Doesn't really matter, but pokemon is clearly not for you.
