Villians: Team X, a terrorist group that worships an ancient pokemon that is prophised to bring the apocalipse, all members hates modernity and gimmicks. Their goal is to summon the legend pokemon. That pokemon is just a legend and isnt catchable. They doesn't disband after being defeated in the main story and keep going trying to summon the apocalyptic pokemon.
Also in postgame theres at least 2 solo villians (like movie villians) using unethical methods to search an specific legendary pokemon (like 2 separated evil Eusines)
League is specialized in using gimmicks instead types: Weather, Terrains, Trick Room and Entry hazards. Champion is uses Mega, Z-move and Dynamax
In postgame theres also a mini tournament with second leaugue gym leaders that specialize on the types left by the 8 main gym leaders
