The point of vanillite is that the snow was more of a camoflauge it wasn't the pokemon; this could've easily been represented in arvalis' artwork, you've could've even kept it as a spider as there are spiders that live in arctic environments so it would've been realistic enough

In a world already filled with creatures with supernatural abilities a sentient, mobile tree isn't that fantastic. You have that shit in just about every basic fairy tale world
I don't hate most of arvalis' work. I LOVE his gastly line and find it very creative.
I think the octopus is the one I hate the most, seriously man, an octopus? You couldn't think of anything better? Like some sort of mammal or insect that used the wood as protection would've been better; model it off of something that lives in trees.
Also his dragonite is gross.
